Synopsis

In 1976, amidst national debate, the House of Commons makes a historic decision to end Canada’s long-standing tradition of capital punishment. As the nation grapples with the implications, viewers witness the tense parliamentary vote that marks a turning point in Canadian history. 

 

Delving into the past, the series uncovers the stories of individuals who faced execution between 1867 and 1923. From the youngest offenders to the oldest, and from rural towns to bustling cities, each episode reveals the diverse backgrounds and circumstances that led them to the gallows.

 

Exploring the rarely discussed stories of the eleven women who met their fate on death row. From tales of betrayal to acts of desperation, these episodes sheds light on the lives of these forgotten figures and challenges stereotypes surrounding female offenders.
